Skills matrix for IT services and tech teams

Know who you can staff next, and which skills to build.

A living skills matrix: who knows what, which gaps to close, which profiles are a single point of failure. Every rating keeps its source and date, and the AI assistant explains without ever deciding.

The levelr.pro dashboard: fit score, skills at goal, open gaps and level over time.

Still running your skills on spreadsheets?

Most HR and managers do, and everyone pays for it.

  • The spreadsheet way: One giant Excel file to build, merge and chase, version after version.

With levelr.pro: One shared picture of skills. Every rating keeps its source and date.

  • The spreadsheet way: Collaborators dread filling hundreds of cells, so ratings come in late, rushed or not at all.

With levelr.pro: A guided self-assessment with written level definitions. Import a CV and review the proposed skills.

  • The spreadsheet way: Nobody hears back. People send their file and never learn how it was read.

With levelr.pro: Managers review ratings, and gaps of two levels or more are flagged for a conversation.

  • The spreadsheet way: Analysis takes weeks of manual consolidation, and the results are stale on arrival.

With levelr.pro: Fit scores, ranked gaps and team coverage are computed live from the same data.

From scattered skills to a shared, trusted picture

Every rating keeps its source and date. Gaps, coverage and learning all come from the same data.

Three sources, one effective level

Self, manager and validation sit side by side. The effective level follows simple rules you can explain.

Fit score against any profile

See how close each person is to a target role, weighted by what matters.

Illustrative example

Ranked gaps

Biggest gaps first, then what the person wants to grow in.

Team coverage, at a glance

Spot at-risk needs and single points of failure before someone leaves.

Learning that closes real gaps

Top courses per gap, or mentors at level 4 and above when none fit.

An assistant that explains, not decides

AI writes the wording. Scores stay computed, auditable and yours.

Powered by AI

AI that does the busywork. People keep the decisions.

levelr.pro uses AI where language helps: answering questions, reading CVs, drafting quizzes and summarizing teams. Every score stays a formula you can audit.

  • Skills assistant

Ask in plain English or French: “What are my biggest gaps for Senior Engineer?” It answers from your own data and streams the result live.

  • CV to self-assessment

Upload a PDF, Word or text CV. The AI proposes skills, levels and evidence; you review and edit before anything is saved. The file is never stored.

  • AI-drafted validation quizzes

Generate questions per skill and level. A human approves each question before it can be used to validate a rating.

  • Team analysis

A written summary of coverage, at-risk needs and single points of failure, built on numbers the platform computed, not guessed.

  • Learning that fits the gap

Top courses per gap, or mentors at level 4 and above when none fit, so every plan is tied to a measured gap.

  • Your model, your data

Run it on a local model so prompts stay inside your infrastructure, or route across several providers with failover and a usage dashboard.

Built so AI stays accountable

  • Names, emails and phone numbers are replaced with placeholders before anything is sent to the AI model
  • Scores are formulas, never model output
  • Generated quiz questions are reviewed by a human first
  • The assistant only sees what the person asking may see
  • Nothing about promotion or pay is decided by AI

Three steps from rating to roadmap

Built to fit into the way your teams already work.

  1. Step 1

    Rate yourself

Pick your skills, set a level with written definitions, add evidence and flag what you want to grow in.

The self-assessment page, with skills grouped by category and progress shown for each.
    Demo data
  2. Step 2

    Get it validated

Managers review the team's ratings. Gaps of two levels or more between self and manager are flagged for discussion.

A person's page as a manager sees it, with their assessment history and who rated each skill.

  3. Step 3

    Follow your roadmap

See your fit, your ranked gaps, recommended courses and the profiles you are closest to.

Useful from the first day, for everyone

Each role sees what it needs, nothing more.

  • Employees

Own your profile, see your gaps and plan your next role.

  • Managers

Review ratings, watch team coverage and find risks early.

  • HR

Link training to measured gaps and suggest internal moves.

  • Skills admins

Govern one referential: approve, merge and retire skills.

Questions, answered

How is the effective level computed?

A recent manager rating wins. Otherwise a passed quiz or certification validates the self-rating, capped one level above it. Otherwise the self-rating is used and marked unvalidated. Ratings older than 12 months are shown as stale.

Does it make decisions about promotion or pay?

No. The platform suggests; people decide. It does not replace your HRIS, payroll or review process.

Is AI involved in the scores?

Scores are simple formulas you can explain. AI is used for wording, matching and quiz generation, and generated questions are reviewed by a human first.

Which languages are supported?

English and French, switchable at any time.

What is a skills matrix?

A skills matrix maps each person's skills and levels against the skills a role or team needs. levelr.pro adds sources (self, manager, validation), dates, gap analysis and learning paths so the matrix stays current instead of going stale in a spreadsheet.

Where does the AI run, and is our data used to train models?

Names, email addresses and phone numbers are replaced with placeholders before anything is sent to a model, and restored in the answer you see. Beyond that, you choose: levelr.pro can run on a local model inside your infrastructure, so prompts never leave it. CVs are read in memory and not stored. The usage dashboard keeps counts and timings, not prompts or answers.
